Individual Therapy & EMDR Therapy
My approach to therapy starts with the belief that change is in our control.
By working from that mentality, we can learn to accept and grow from what we cannot control in order to live our life in an more optimal way. In my therapy space, I value authenticity, safety, freedom to choose, connection to others as well as ourselves, and being challenged.
My clients want a safe and comfortable space that can help them facilitate growth (that can sometimes be uncomfortable), and I love when I can provide that. I enjoy working with adults and adolescents who are curious about themselves, desire change and are interested in exploring issues or past trauma that they feel may be holding them back. I have completed EMDR Basic & Advanced Training and use this along with other evidence based practices to help my clients reach their goals.
What can we work on?
Coping Skills
Learning new coping skills can be very beneficial for things such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, stress, family conflict, suicidal ideation, etc. I utilize therapeutic modalities such as CBT, DBT, and ACT to help you learn tools to help in those moments when symptoms feel intense and accept things that are out of our control.
Communication & Relationships
Having conflict with your partner, peers, family, or others in general? Let’s talk about ways to improve communication, set boundaries, and talk about what is in our control and what is not, and what to do when feeling overwhelmed.
Trauma
Is there unresolved trauma from the past bothering you? Are you noticing some reactions or patterns that come from past experiences you’re wanting to talk about and change? I use an evidence based approach called EMDR to help clients process past experiences that they feel may be holding them back.

FAQs About EMDR Therapy
What Does EMDR Stand For and What Is It?
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
Simply put - this is a type of therapy that traditionally uses eye movement or bilateral stimulation that facilitates healing from symptoms and emotional distress from past life experiences or disturbing memories.
How Can This Help Me?
From emdria.org: “EMDR therapy does not require talking in detail about the distressing issue or completing homework between sessions. EMDR therapy, rather than focusing on changing the emotions, thoughts, or behaviors resulting from the distressing issue, allows the brain to resume its natural healing process. EMDR therapy is designed to resolve unprocessed traumatic memories in the brain.”
How Long Does It Take?
It depends. EMDR is known for taking less time than traditional talk therapy to produce results but it’s different for everyone depending on what they are working through. EMDR can also be done in intensive sessions that are 2+ hours long to facilitate less tie to achieve results. EMDR is recommended to be done on a weekly or biweekly basis.
Can we do a combination of EMDR and talk therapy?
Yes definitely! Some clients prefer to do only EMDR, target the issue, have that end goal and end therapy. Other client’s prefer to do a combination of talk therapy and EMDR where we can process things in more than one way.
